What Is Socks of Love?
According to the Mayo Clinic, in cold enough conditions, frostbite can occur in fewer than 30 minutes! Warm, well-fitting socks can prevent this for many people.
When we at Footprints to Recovery found this out, we decided to take action. Footprints has developed a campaign to help give back by gathering socks across the country to give to those in need, such as men, women and children in homeless shelters. Started in 2017, this campaign has now grown to include partners from across the country that are helping Footprints to Recovery gather thousands of socks and spread warmth and comfort.
In 2019 we set the goal to collect over 10,000 pairs of socks.
Socks collected are donated to rescue missions and other organizations within the local communities where our treatment facilities are located.
Try to recall a time when you had the misfortune of stepping into a puddle only to have the water soak all the way through to your sock. And like many, you probably wanted nothing more than to go home to change into a clean pair. Now imagine not having that luxury and having to spend the day with soggy wet feet. It sounds miserable, right? Those within our homeless communities are always in need of an extra pair of socks. Having clean and dry socks can help prevent many foot related health issues, including trench foot.

How Else Does Footprints to Recovery Help Our Communities?
Footprints to Recovery is dedicated to giving back and making a positive impact in the communities we serve. We believe that recovery is not just about individual healing, but also about creating healthier and stronger communities as a whole. With locations in Colorado, New Jersey, and Illinois, our team works closely with local organizations and charities to support those in need.
In addition to our Socks of Love campaign and other community initiatives, Footprints to Recovery offers a full continuum of care within our comprehensive addiction treatment programs. As clients transition from detox and into inpatient and outpatient rehab, we provide the care and support people need to establish new, fulfilling lives in recovery.
We understand that many individuals in recovery may face challenges adjusting back into their communities after completing treatment. That’s why we offer ongoing support through our alumni program and community events.
Medically managed intensive inpatient treatment provides comprehensive care for very severe cases where individuals have severe and life-threatening medical conditions, are suicidal, or have severe psychiatric problems, such as psychosis. This level of care can also be used for medical detox in specific cases.
Outpatient treatment, also known as outpatient rehab, is a form of addiction recovery program that provides support and therapy for individuals struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. Unlike inpatient treatment where the individual stays at a facility for a designated period of time, outpatient treatment allows individuals to continue living at home while attending scheduled therapy sessions.
This type of treatment is typically recommended for those who have mild to moderate substance use disorders and do not require 24/7 medical supervision. Outpatient programs can vary in intensity and duration, offering different levels of care based on the individual’s needs. Some may attend daily sessions while others may only come in a few times a week. outpatient treatment is to help individuals maintain sobriety and develop healthy coping
Our alumni program provides a supportive network of individuals who have gone through similar experiences, providing a sense of camaraderie and understanding. We also organize community events to raise awareness about addiction and recovery, and to promote healthy lifestyles.
Our admissions team is available 24/7 to listen to your story and help you get started with the next steps.
