Two options are available when deciding how to pay for treatment at Footprints to Recovery. Paying out of pocket for the cost of rehab is always the first. If you can afford it, paying out of pocket for rehab prevents having to rely on anyone else to support you through the process. This type of payment allows automatic admittance into our facilities at Footprints to Recovery.
The second type of payment is going through your insurance plan to cover some of the costs. Depending on your insurance company, your policy may be able to cover most of, if not the entirety, of the cost of your treatments here at our facilities.
Addiction disorders are nothing to downplay, and neither are the costs of treatment for them. Although it can be stressful even thinking about how to pay for rehab, we believe there is no price to your health and wellbeing.
We also understand that not everyone will be able to afford thousands of dollars of treatment by paying on their own, so we want to help you receive every ounce of help you can possibly get. If you believe you or someone you know may be suffering from some type of addiction disorder, our specialists are available to answer your questions and help you find the best possible solution to paying for treatment.
How to Choose the Right Treatment Facility
Choosing the right treatment center for your addiction disorder is a very important part of the recovery process. If you find a treatment facility you think you would be interested in, you need to research as much as you can about types of treatments offered there as well as their success stories that have come out of their treatments.
You also want to find a center that is close enough to your loved ones, so they are able to visit you during your treatments. By doing this, you set yourself up to find the best fit for your needs.
Our three Footprints to Recovery facilities are located in Colorado, Illinois, and New Jersey. By having multiple treatment centers, we are able to cater to many different areas within the U.S. We also offer many different therapies and levels of care to attract as many potential patients as possible. By having a variety of therapies and locations, we hope to help as many individuals with addiction disorders as we can.
About Cigna Insurance
Cigna Insurance prides itself on being “more than a health insurance company,” and they have partnered with more than 1 million health providers around the world. They are trying to pave the way for insurance companies by expanding choices and improving the quality and affordability of their policies. In a recent study, it was also found that Cigna reduced policyholder opioid usage by 25%.
Additional Benefits of Cigna Plans
We encourage finding an insurance policy that not only helps pay for your time here in our facilities but also one that offers everyday benefits to its policyholders. Cigna’s plans are extremely flexible, and they are willing to cover 100% of the cost of annual checkups, screenings, and routine immunizations for their in-network healthcare providers.
Not only is it a helpful insurance company, but it also appeals to all ages by being tech-savvy. They offer a mobile app that can manage the balance on existing accounts, locate in-network providers in your area, and even check on existing insurance claims. Their customer service is available to answer your calls at any time of the day, as well.
How We Review Your Cigna Policy
More people than ever are able to afford insurance to cover the medical costs of mental health and substance abuse treatments. Our team at Footprints to Recovery can work with your Cigna representative to determine what types of treatments will be covered under your current policy.
At Footprints to Recovery, an independent review of your Cigna coverage will determine:
- Which treatment programs you will be eligible to receive funding for
- The length of time that will be covered
- If the level of care (inpatient or outpatient) will be covered
Once we review your Cigna policy, we will be able to help you pay the least amount of money from your own pocket for your treatment. We understand how vital this is to health as well as your financial future.
In-Network vs. Out-of-Network Policies
Knowing the difference between in-network and out-of-network companies will allow you to save as much money as possible during your stay at Footprints to Recovery.
In-network insurance companies are those that we have partnered with to offer even more coverage than you would receive if you only went through the insurance company.
Out-of-network companies are ones that we still accept the policies of, but we do not have current partnership discounts. We encourage holding a policy with one of our in-network companies like Cigna, so you can receive the most financial assistance with your addiction and mental health treatments.
We understand the importance of knowing the exact amount you may have to pay out of pocket for your treatments. Upon inquiring about insurance coverage information, our staff at Footprints to Recovery will review your current Cigna policy. You may be entitled to a large amount if not full coverage of your rehab through your policy, and we know this could be the deciding factor of whether or not you attend treatment at one of our facilities.
Coverage for Treatment
There are many costs that go along with your substance abuse treatments. Depending on the level of care you need, the medication you will be prescribed, and the length of time you will spend within our facilities, the amount of treatment can add up. This is why it’s important to find an insurance company that will offer the highest level of coverage for your time at rehab.
Cigna requires prior approval for substance treatment within any facility. Coverage will depend on what Cigna plan you are currently under, but they do offer some level of coverage for treatment with most of their policies.
Medical Detox Coverage
Medical detox is often the first part of the recovery process, and it is defined as the gradual removal of the abused substance in a person’s body. Detox is a very difficult process to go through because the addicted person will experience very painful withdrawal symptoms. Some of these symptoms can include cold sweats, fatigue, painful muscle tension, heart palpitations, irregular heartbeat, and even seizures in very extreme cases. Completing a medical detox is essential to making a full recovery from substance addiction because it allows the addict to become completely sober after abusing drugs or alcohol for so long.
We offer 24/7 care in our medical detox program here at Footprint to Recovery because we know how difficult the withdrawal process can be. Depending on the severity of the addiction, one of our patients may be facing; detox can take anywhere between a couple of days to a couple of weeks.
Once you decide whether or not you’re attending our treatment center for your detox, our staff will work with your Cigna representative and review what level of detox coverage you are eligible for. The detox coverage will require prior approval from your Cigna policy.
Mental Disorder and Dual-Diagnosis Treatment Coverage
A common reason for the development of an addiction disorder is a preexisting mental disorder that was not treated. When we evaluate potential patients at Footprints to Recovery, our specialists know that testing mental health is essential to determining what types of treatments will be needed for the best chance at a full recovery. If a mental disorder like anxiety, depression, bipolar, etc. is found, patients will be placed within our dual-diagnosis program to treat both disorders at the same time.
Your Cigna plan will most likely offer some sort of level of coverage for your mental disorder and dual diagnosis treatments. Each patient’s coverage will differ based on the type of Cigna plan you currently hold.
Inpatient and Outpatient Treatment Coverage
Once you have decided Footprints to Recovery is where you would like to attend treatment, our specialists will evaluate your physical and mental state. Depending on the level of care, we believe you need to make a full recovery. We will recommend either our inpatient or outpatient method of treatment.
The difference between our inpatient and outpatient treatments will be the level of care you receive and the length of time you stay. Inpatient treatment is a more serious form where there is a very structured schedule for treatment and therapy. Outpatient treatment is meant for those with less severe cases of addiction that want to maintain some sort of normal schedule while going through therapy.
Again, the only way you will be able to receive coverage is if you are pre-authorized by your Cigna provider. This will be the first thing discussed once a mental evaluation is performed by our staff to determine what level of care you will need and how much you should be expected to pay for those treatments.
