With a strong foundation in community outreach and a deep commitment to addiction and behavioral health advocacy, Mo Vear, BA, MA, CAPRCII, brings over two decades of experience to her role as Community Engagement Specialist at Footprints to Recovery’s treatment center in Elgin, Illinois. She has extensive experience as a Case Manager and Peer Recovery Coach, specializing in co-occurring disorders. Most recently, she served as the Community Outreach Director at an Indiana-based treatment facility, where she led strategic engagement efforts with direct referrals across healthcare and legal systems, unions, veterans, first responders, pilots, business professionals, and educators, forging meaningful partnerships that supported individuals on their path to recovery.   

At Footprints to Recovery, Mo combines her passion for holistic healing with strategic relationship building and 27+ years in recovery to authentically connect and expand referral networks that help others find healing and hope. Her background in business marketing and writing, along with her dedication to advocacy and education, uniquely positions her to amplify Footprints’ mission and enhance its impact within the recovery community.   

Beyond her professional work, Mo is a writer who believes in the transformative power of storytelling, especially through humor. She has also been a podcast host and workshop facilitator. Whether she’s performing live at The Moth StorySLAM in Chicago or guiding others through her writing workshop, Everyone Has a Story, Mo’s overarching goal is to ensure that every individual and organization she works with feels seen, supported, and empowered because recovery doesn’t end with treatment; it begins with connection.
