Two options are available when deciding how to pay for treatment at Footprints to Recovery. Paying out of pocket for the cost of rehab is always the first. If you can afford it, paying out of pocket for rehab prevents having to rely on anyone else to support you through the process. This type of payment allows automatic admittance into our facilities at Footprints to Recovery.
The second type of payment is going through your insurance plan to cover some of the costs. Depending on your insurance company, your policy may be able to cover most of, if not the entirety, of the cost of your treatments here at our facilities.
Addiction disorders are nothing to downplay, and neither are the costs of treatment for them. Although it can be stressful even thinking about how to pay for rehab, we believe there is no price to your health and wellbeing.
We also understand that not everyone will be able to afford thousands of dollars of treatment by paying on their own, so we want to help you receive every ounce of help you can possibly get. If you believe you or someone you know may be suffering from some type of addiction disorder, our specialists are available to answer your questions and help you find the best possible solution to paying for treatment.
How to Choose the Right Facility for You
Choosing the right treatment center for your addiction disorder is a very important part of the recovery process. If you find a treatment facility you think you would be interested in, you need to research as much as you can about types of treatments offered there as well as their success stories that have come out of their treatments.
You also want to find a center that is close enough to your loved ones, so they are able to visit you during your treatments. By doing this, you set yourself up to find the best fit for your needs.
Our three Footprints to Recovery facilities are located in Colorado, Illinois, and New Jersey. By having multiple treatment centers, we are able to cater to many different areas within the U.S. We also offer many different therapies and levels of care to attract as many potential patients as possible. By having a variety of therapies and locations, we hope to help as many individuals with addiction disorders as we can.
About Aetna Insurance
Aetna Insurance was started in 1853 to provide life insurance to Americans. During the Civil War, there was a large surge of need for life insurance policies because of the amount of injured and deceased soldiers. Aetna increased its business levels by 600 percent from the year 1861 to 1865 due to the war, and this was when it began to thrive.
Today, Aetna is recognized as a large influence within the fight to stop opioid addiction in the U.S. In 2018 alone; the company donated $6 million to fund state-monitored opioid addiction projects around the country.
Additional Benefits of Aetna Policies
Although helping to cover the cost of treatment is important, we also encourage our patients to find an insurance provider, like Aetna, that also provides helpful resources for everyday life. The company recently partnered with CVS Health to encourage healthy product choices. Together, they created the “Tested to be Trusted” program that requires all products sold within CVS to be tested by a third-party to ensure the ingredients listed are accurately depicted.
They also provide their policyholders with a customer center on their website that provides answers to most questions about their policies. The website is user friendly and very easy to access.
Why We Review Your Policy
More people than ever are able to afford insurance to cover the medical costs of mental health and substance abuse treatments. Our team at Footprints to Recovery can work with your Aetna representative to determine what types of treatments will be covered under your current policy.
At Footprints to Recovery, an independent review of your Aetna coverage will determine:
- Which treatment programs you will be eligible to receive funding for
- The length of time that will be covered
- If the level of care (inpatient or outpatient) will be covered
Once we review your Aetna policy, we will be able to help you pay the least amount of money from your own pocket for your treatment. We understand how vital this is to health as well as your financial future.
Coverage for Substance Abuse Treatment
There are many costs that go along with your substance abuse treatments. Depending on the level of care you need, the medication you will be prescribed, and the length of time you will spend within our facilities, the amount of treatment can add up. This is why it’s important to find an insurance company that will offer the highest level of coverage for your time at rehab.
Most Aetna plans provide some level of coverage for substance abuse treatment. Coinsurance and deductible costs are likely to come along with addiction treatments, so we encourage talking with your Aetna representative to get a better idea of what treatments you may have to pay out-of-pocket before consulting with our staff at Footprints to Recovery.
Will My Aetna Plan Cover Detox?
Medical detox is often times the first part of the recovery process, and it is defined as the gradual removal of the abused substance a person’s body. Detox is a very difficult process to go through because the addicted person will experience very painful withdrawal symptoms. Some of these symptoms can include cold sweats, fatigue, painful muscle tension, heart palpitations, irregular heartbeat, and even seizures in very extreme cases. Completing a medical detox is essential to making a full recovery from substance addiction because it allows the addict to become completely sober after abusing drugs or alcohol for so long.
We offer 24/7 care in our medical detox program here at Footprint to Recovery because we know how difficult the withdrawal process can be. Depending on the severity of the addiction, one of our patients may be facing; detox can take anywhere between a couple of days to a couple of weeks.
Detox can be partial to fully covered depending on what type of Aetna plan you have. The coverage will also depend on how long your detox process takes and whether you are admitted into an inpatient or outpatient program.
Difference Between Inpatient and Outpatient Coverage
Once you have decided Footprints to Recovery is where you would like to attend treatment, our specialists will evaluate your physical and mental state. Depending on the level of care, we believe you need to make a full recovery. We will recommend either our inpatient or outpatient method of treatment.
The difference between our inpatient and outpatient treatments will be the level of care you receive and the length of time you stay. Inpatient treatment is a more serious form where there is a very structured schedule for treatment and therapy. Outpatient treatment is meant for those with less severe cases of addiction that want to maintain some sort of normal schedule while going through therapy.
Pre-authorization will be needed for most inpatient and outpatient treatments through your Aetna plan. This means you have to be evaluated by a licensed physician to determine whether or not you need treatment before any sort of coverage is applied. We have professionals on-site at Footprints to Recovery that can help with this, and they will be able to determine the severity of your addiction and what types of treatments you may need.
Mental Disorder and Dual-Diagnosis Treatment Coverage
A common reason for the development of an addiction disorder is a preexisting mental disorder that was not treated. When we evaluate potential patients at Footprints to Recovery, our specialists know that testing mental health is essential to determining what types of treatments will be needed for the best chance at a full recovery. If a mental disorder like anxiety, depression, bipolar, etc. is found, patients will be placed within our dual-diagnosis program to treat both disorders at the same time.
Addiction treatment can be expensive all by itself, but it can significantly increase in cost if dual-diagnosis treatments are also needed. Most Aetna plans offer a large amount of coverage towards mental disorder treatment if it is required.
In-Network vs. Out-of-Network Policies
Knowing the difference between in-network and out-of-network companies will allow you to save as much money as possible during your stay at Footprints to Recovery.
In-network insurance companies are those that we have partnered with to offer even more coverage than you would receive if you only went through the insurance company.
Out-of-network companies are ones that we still accept the policies of, but we do not have current partnership discounts. We encourage holding a policy with one of our in-network companies like Aetna, so you can receive the most financial assistance with your addiction and mental health treatments.
We understand the importance of knowing the exact amount you may have to pay out of pocket for your treatments. Upon inquiring about insurance coverage information, our staff at Footprints to Recovery will review your current Aetna policy. You may be entitled to a large amount if not full coverage of your rehab through your policy, and we know this could be the deciding factor of whether or not you attend treatment at one of our facilities.
