Two options are available when deciding how to pay for treatment at Footprints to Recovery. Paying out of pocket for the cost of rehab is always the first. If you can afford it, paying out of pocket for rehab prevents having to rely on anyone else to support you through the process. This type of payment allows automatic admittance into our facilities at Footprints to Recovery.
The second type of payment is going through your insurance plan to cover some of the costs. Depending on your insurance company, your policy may be able to cover most of, if not the entirety, of the cost of your treatments here at our facilities.
Addiction disorders are nothing to downplay, and neither are the costs of treatment for them. Although it can be stressful even thinking about how to pay for rehab, we believe there is no price to your health and wellbeing.
We also understand that not everyone will be able to afford thousands of dollars of treatment by paying on their own, so we want to help you receive every ounce of help you can possibly get. If you believe you or someone you know may be suffering from some type of addiction disorder, our specialists are available to answer your questions and help you find the best possible solution to paying for treatment.
How to Choose the Right Facility for You
Choosing the right treatment center for your addiction disorder is a very important part of the recovery process. If you find a treatment facility you think you would be interested in, you need to research as much as you can about types of treatments offered there as well as their success stories that have come out of their treatments.
You also want to find a center that is close enough to your loved ones, so they are able to visit you during your treatments. By doing this, you set yourself up to find the best fit for your needs.
Our three Footprints to Recovery facilities are located in Colorado, Illinois, and New Jersey. By having multiple treatment centers, we are able to cater to many different areas within the U.S. We also offer many different therapies and levels of care to attract as many potential patients as possible. By having a variety of therapies and locations, we hope to help as many individuals with addiction disorders as we can.
Tricare Insurance Facts
Tricare is an insurance company that serves U.S. military residents and has grown to serve over 9.5 million members. In order to be eligible for a Tricare plan, you must be a currently active or retired military personnel or related to someone under one of their policies.
The company’s 3,100 employees help provide dental, vision, mental health, etc. benefits to its members of all ages and demographics. Tricare Insurance is split into two separate entities that serve different regions of the country.
Tricare West covers the midwestern to pacific coast region, and Tricare East covers the New England and Southeastern areas of the United States.
Tricare understands the importance of catering to our armed forces, and they aim to maintain the health and wellness of our country’s military because they recognize the sacrifices they have made for the United States and its citizens.
Tricare Additional Health Benefits
Although helping to cover the cost of treatment is important, we also encourage our patients to go with an insurance provider that will be beneficial once treatment is completed. Through their agents, Tricare policyholders can learn more about the additional benefits their plan includes.
Tricare aims to serve the country’s past and present military members as best they can. They understand that this group of people goes through an extensive amount of stress and hardship due to the work they participate in within their rankings. Tricare extends coverage for marriage counseling, psychological testing, and medication management to its members because they understand the importance of maintaining healthy relationships and mental states for the profession they are in.
Substance Abuse and Mental Health in the Military
Military members, both active and retired, are widely respected amongst the rest of the United States population. They receive benefits that many others do not have access to, they are able to travel the world, and they meet people from many walks of life. Although there are perks that come along with military life, there are equally as many disadvantages.
When someone enters the military and completes training, there is always the chance that they can be deployed at any point into an active warzone in another country. The things they see and the people they come into contact with can haunt them long after they have left those situations behind. Because of this, it is very possible that their mental and physical health can decline.
Although lower numbers of substance abuse disorders are being reported each year, it is still an illness that continues to run rampant throughout our active and retired military populations. Mental health is a huge concern for those who have experienced war-like atmospheres.
A lot of retired military personnel report developing a condition known as PTSD or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder because of the things they have witnessed during their time in the service. This serious mental disorder can cause many different symptoms, and the more serious ones include violent behaviors like suicidal or homicidal thoughts and actions.
Difference Between Using an In-Network and an Out-of-Network Policy
Knowing the difference between in-network and out-of-network companies will allow you to save as much money as possible during your stay at Footprints to Recovery.
In-network insurance companies are those that we have partnered with to offer even more coverage than you would receive if you only went through the insurance company.
Out-of-network companies are ones that we still accept the policies of, but we do not have current partnership discounts. We encourage holding a policy with one of our in-network companies like Tricare, so you can receive the most financial assistance with your addiction and mental health treatments.
We understand the importance of knowing the exact amount you may have to pay out of pocket for your treatments. Upon inquiring about insurance coverage information, our staff at Footprints to Recovery will review your current Tricare policy. You may be entitled to a large amount if not full coverage of your rehab through your policy, and we know this could be the deciding factor of whether or not you attend treatment at one of our facilities.
Reviewing Your Policy
More people than ever are able to afford insurance to cover the medical costs of mental health and substance abuse treatments. Our team at Footprints to Recovery can work with your Tricare representative to determine what types of treatments will be covered under your current policy.
At Footprints to Recovery, an independent review of your Tricare coverage will determine:
- Which treatment programs you will be eligible to receive funding for
- The length of time that will be covered
- If the level of care (inpatient or outpatient) will be covered
Once we review your Tricare policy, we will be able to help you pay the least amount of money from your own pocket for your treatment. We understand how vital this is to health as well as your financial future.
Coverage for Substance Abuse Treatment
There are many costs that go along with your substance abuse treatments. Depending on the level of care you need, the medication you will be prescribed, and the length of time you will spend within our facilities, the amount of treatment can add up. This is why it’s important to find an insurance company that will offer the highest level of coverage for your time at rehab.
Tricare offers extensive coverage to its members for substance abuse treatment, especially because retired military members make up such a large percentage of the U.S.’s addict population. All levels of care for substance abuse treatment are able to be covered under Tricare plans, but the patient is required to have prior authorization before receiving any type of coverage.
Medical Detox Coverage Options
Medical detox is often times the first part of the recovery process, and it is defined as the gradual removal of the abused substance a person’s body. Detox is a very difficult process to go through because the addicted person will experience very painful withdrawal symptoms. Some of these symptoms can include cold sweats, fatigue, painful muscle tension, heart palpitations, irregular heartbeat, and even seizures in very extreme cases. Completing a medical detox is essential to making a full recovery from substance addiction because it allows the addict to become completely sober after abusing drugs or alcohol for so long.
We offer 24/7 care in our medical detox program here at Footprint to Recovery because we know how difficult the withdrawal process can be. Depending on the severity of the addiction, one of our patients may be facing, detox can take anywhere between a couple of days to a couple of weeks.
No matter the amount of time you require to complete your detox, the treatment is only covered under your Tricare plan if you are admitted into a hospital setting to receive the treatment. Our specialists here at Footprints to Recovery will review your plan to see if you are eligible for medical detox coverage.
Inpatient and Outpatient Treatment Coverage
Once you have decided Footprints to Recovery is where you would like to attend treatment, our specialists will evaluate your physical and mental state. Depending on the level of care, we believe you need to make a full recovery. We will recommend either our inpatient or outpatient method of treatment.
The difference between our inpatient and outpatient treatments will be the level of care you receive and the length of time you stay. Inpatient treatment is a more serious form where there is a very structured schedule for treatment and therapy.
Outpatient treatment is meant for those with less severe cases of addiction that want to maintain some sort of normal schedule while going through therapy. Your Tricare plan is able to cover a large amount, if not all, of the cost of both inpatient and outpatient treatment. Both branches of Tricare provide a list on their websites of treatments that are not included under your coverage.
Mental Disorder and Dual-Diagnosis Treatment Coverage
A common reason for the development of an addiction disorder is a preexisting mental disorder that was not treated. When we evaluate potential patients at Footprints to Recovery, our specialists know that testing mental health is essential to determining what types of treatments will be needed for the best chance at a full recovery. If a mental disorder like anxiety, depression, bipolar, etc. is found, patients will be placed within our dual-diagnosis program to treat both disorders at the same time.
We understand our retired and current military personnel are at high risk for developing a mental disorder due to the environments they’ve been thrown into and the people they have come in contact with. We believe Tricare is a great insurance option if you are searching for mental health coverage. They are able to cover the high cost of many different types of mental disorder treatments.
